The only official contact. It is a forwarder read by a person, so expect a reply from a human and not instantly. For wallet problems, include your operating system, the wallet version (Help › About), what you did, and the last hundred or so lines of debug.log from the data directory. For anything about the chain, the block height your wallet shows.

We do not run any social media accounts yet.

No X, Telegram, Discord, Reddit or anything else. Official accounts are coming and will be listed on this page and nowhere else first. Until then, anyone claiming to be Vivuscoin on social media, in a group chat or by direct message is not us. The only official contact today is support@vivuscoin.com.

When accounts exist, you will be able to check them against this page. If a handle is not listed here, treat it as an impersonator, whatever it says in its bio.

Where the work happens

Everything is done in the open on GitHub. The repository holds the Bitcoin-Core-derived source, the release tags and, on a branch, the v1.1 consensus changes that restart the chain. Releases ship with SHA-256 checksums for every binary.

The roadmap lists what is done, in progress and next, in plain words and without promised dates. Each step is published when it is finished, with hashes. The network status page shows what the seed nodes see, refreshed every few minutes.

There is no blog yet. Release notes for v1.1 will be the first news post, and they will be linked from the homepage and the roadmap.

How to contribute

The project is one person plus whoever shows up. Useful work is paid from the airdrop programme's earned tier and listed openly.

Code

Open an issue before a large change so the approach is agreed. Small, reviewable pull requests against the v1.1 branch; keep the Bitcoin Core coding style; add a test where one fits. Consensus changes get the most scrutiny and the slowest merges, on purpose.

Documentation and testing

Build instructions for a platform we do not cover, a clearer guide, a translation, or a report from running the v1.1 wallet on real hardware. Testing the release candidates on Windows, macOS and Linux is the most valuable thing a non-developer can do.

Run a node

A full node reachable on port 8168 helps the network more than anything else once blocks flow again. Reachable nodes are on the airdrop's earned list; the criteria are published with the programme figures. See Developers & nodes.

The 2021 forum

In 2021 the project ran a forum at talk.vivuscoin.com. Within weeks it was overrun by spam accounts and spam posts, and it broke in early 2022. What the Internet Archive kept of it is almost entirely that spam, with no launch announcement or real user discussion in it, so the forum is not being restored. There is no plan for a new forum; GitHub issues and email cover what a forum would have.

Code of conduct

Be civil. Disagree with the code, not the person.
No price talk, no shilling, no "when exchange". VVC has no market price and this project will not pretend otherwise.
No spam, no referral links, no unsolicited promotion of other projects.
Report security problems privately to support@vivuscoin.com before posting them anywhere public.
Maintainers decide what is merged and what is removed; that decision is explained in the open and can be argued with, once.

Security and scams

We never ask for your keys, your seed, a signature or a payment.

We do not send direct messages. There is no token sale, no pre-sale, no listing and no "official wallet app" other than Vivuscoin Core from the GitHub release. Anyone asking you to connect a wallet, sign a message or pay a fee to receive VVC is a scammer. If you are unsure, email support and wait for the reply.
