Vivuscoin Core 1.1.0 released

Vivuscoin Core 1.1.0 is the current wallet and node software for Vivuscoin (VVC), available for Windows, macOS and Linux. It adjusts difficulty every block, and it comes with solo mining for any SHA-256d miner, a block explorer and an open airdrop.

Upgrading

Upgrade to 1.1 before block 24,147.

Stop the old wallet (File › Exit, or vivuscoin-cli stop), install 1.1.0 over it and start it. The data directory and wallet file are reused as they are; no reindex is needed. The wallet is synced when its block height matches the block explorer.

What is in 1.1.0

  • Per-block difficulty adjustment. Difficulty is recomputed every block from a weighted average of the last 60 block times (LWMA-1), so it follows the real hash rate closely.
  • Stall protection. If no block arrives for 24 minutes, the required difficulty eases step by step within set limits, so a gap closes within hours.
  • Tighter timestamps. A block may be at most 12 minutes in the future instead of 2 hours; peer time adjustment is capped at 6 minutes. Keep your node’s clock synced.
  • Reorg limit. Reorganisations deeper than 10 blocks are refused (-maxreorgdepth), so settled balances stay settled. Existing checkpoints are kept.

Solo mining

Point any SHA-256d miner at stratum+tcp://pool.vivuscoin.com:3333 with your VVC address as the username and x as the password. A block you find pays its 50 VVC reward straight to that address; the pool holds nothing.
